Internet Explorer won't save files

I recently bought a new drive (250G Western Digital). I used the CD
which can with new drive and transfered content accordingly. The new
drive boots fine, WinXP runs fine, but when I download and save file
with MS Internet Explorer it downloads the file but doesn't copy it to
hard drive. I've re-installed SP2 for XP, not change. Tried IE Beta 7,
no luck either. If I use other application such as Cute FTP or Mozilla
Firefox it will both allow to save properly to hard drive.

I thought re-installing WinXP in case it's an issue of software
re-gistration, but since its an older CD with SP1, it won't allow me
and tells me the current version on PC is newer.

I've contacted Western Digital, but they say it's a MS issue.

Please help me anyone.

Continue using Firefox. I get better download speeds and it doesn't
disconnect when the download is interrupted. It is much more secure
than ie.
