Internet explorer won't load

Whenever I try to load internet explorer I get an error
message saying: "This program has caused an illegal
operation and will be shut down" I click on close and then
another message pops up saying "An error has occurred in
Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer will now close. If you
continue to experience problems, please restart your
computer" I've tried restarting it but the message still
comes up.
If anyone could help, it would be very much appreciated.

Pam,
The first step to resolve your problem:
Control Panel | Internet Options | Advanced [tab]
Uncheck: "Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)"
Click Apply\Ok and restart.

Don't forget to re-enable the "3rd browser extensions" option (if used)
Many legit applications use that option also.
