IE6 error message

P

Pam

Whenever I double click on internet explorer, I get an
illegal operation message and then an error message which
reads: "An error has occurred in internet explorer.
Internet explorer will now close"

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Open the Internet applet in Control panel.
On the Advanced tab uncheck Enable third party browser attachments.
If that allows IE to start, see
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to

Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
