Internet explorer doesn't open!

Whenever I try to open internet explorer, 'explorer' does
an illegal operation and when I close it the message comes
up 'internet explorer has experienced an error and it will
close now. Any further problems please restart your
computer.'
I have tried that many times and have also reinstalled
internet explorer and my windows 98, and its still not
working.
Please help!!!!

Vik,
This is probably being caused by another program- possibly adware, spyware,
parasite.
Download and run run CWShredder from
http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/CWShredder.zip
CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it could be downloaded from another
machine onto a floppy disk if necessary.

If CWShredder isn't the cure, try Ad-aware and Spybot S&D:

Less likely, but it could be a legitimate program such as AV, ad blocker,
security, etc.
