Internet Explorer won't let me open some sites

Chuck W.

When I try to open certain sites (ex. cbs.sportsline.com,
www.techbargains.com), I get the message

"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site [site's
name]. Operation aborted

I test java settings and ActiveX. Anyone have any ideas
for me to try?

www.techbargains.com
....
I test java settings and ActiveX.

What were your results? Did you try testing Javascript too?

There are quite a few uncommon coding techniques used in that site
apparently involving Javascript. I think that you should be able to get
different results by setting Active Scripting to Prompt and replying
No to each prompt.

Good luck
