IE Operation Aborted Message

For the past couple of weeks with increasing regularity I
have begun receiving the following message:


Microsoft Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site
http://cbs.sportsline.com/. (this is just one site
example)

Operation aborted.


It started out at one particular site but it now seems to
be spreading to multiple sites.

Anyone who can help... your prompt assistance is greatly
appreciated.
