Internet Explorer shutsdown when media player plays streaming audi

I am using Windows XP home edition with service pack 2 added. The problem
everything was working correctly up to about a week ago and now everytime I
open Internet Explore 6 and play streaming audio with media player format. I
get and error message saying " internet Explorer experienced a problem and
needs to shutdown" Now if the audio formt is in real player there is no
problem. Just with media player. This is included with the message:
AppName:Iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: wininet.dll
Can anyone help me out here. Also there were 33 spywares removed from this
system

Did you install SP2 or anything else from Windows Update a week ago?
