Internet Explorer problems

I am constantly besieged with this error msg from Internet Explorer:

"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience."

I am running XP Pro. Using the XP cd, I removed IE and then reloaded it.
Unfortunately, I'm still having the problem.

I hope this is the correct newsgroup for this question; I couldn't find any
microsoft.public groups that looked like a better bet.

Hi,
you must update your Windows.Visit Windows Update site, download and
install the latest updates/patches.
