Internet Explorer - PC shutting down

Operating system WinXP Pro. When I start Internet Explorer
6, after a few minues a message pops up ...
NT Authority/System, Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service
Terminated Unexpectedly ... then PC shutsdown after 60
secs. Help!!!!
