Internet explorer new window malfunctioning

When I open a new window in internet explorer, the address bar becomes
nonfunctional. I therefore can't type any address in the address bar. Does
anyone know how to solve this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
 
You might have a better response by posting to the
correct newsgroup.
Try posting in "Internet Technologies" then choose your
browser version (under help then click "about")
 
Right -click near the top of the Internet Explorer window on the toolbar and
choose "Address Bar" from the menu that pops up
