Internet Explorer meets problem

G

Glen Kelly

Hi, there,
My IE on Windows 2000 always pops out a message "IExplorer has generated an
error and will be closed by Windows you need to restart the program."
and closed when i click on it.I literally can't use IE.

Beside, my system becomes unreasonably slow.

I used NAV and an add-on cleaner, the problems are still there.

Has anyone any idea how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Glen,

Thanks for the posting. Error Message: Iexplore.exe Has Generated Errors
and Will Be Closed By Windows

CAUSE
This behavior can occur if one of the following conditions exist: •
ZoneAlarm is installed on your computer.
• Quarterdeck CleanSweep was installed on your computer before you upgraded
to Windows 2000.
• Your computer is configured to automatically run a type of program that
is damaged or is incompatible with Windows 2000 or your version of Internet
Explorer.

Go thru KB article at http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;EN-US;Q303728
for the resolution.

A 3rd party browser extension, like Xupitor, can cause this problem.

To determine if it is a 3rd party browser extension, use the steps for your
operating system that are similar to:

1. Open Control Panel / Internet Options.

2. Select the Advanced tab.

3. Under the Browsing category, clear the Enable third-party browser
extensions (requires restart) box.

4. Press Apply and OK.

5. Shutdown and restart Windows.

If the problem is resolved, locate the offending application and uninstall
it, or visit the vendors' site to look for an update.

I hope the above information will solve the problem.

Thanks,
