I get error Cannot find server or DNS error. I dont
remember how this happened, its been working then one day
its not. I can use programs like aim and kazaa. I can
ping websites. But my internet will not browse.

Mike,

Not really enough information. Knowing your configuration would help a lot.

Can you ping the same sites that you can't reach with the browser? That
would likely eliminate a DNS problem.

Sometimes a router will lose the ability to reach some sites and not others.
A reboot of the router could fix if this has happened. But then, maybe you
aren't using a router...?

I can ping websites that I cannot reach on my browser. So
far I cannot access any websites. I use a router, the
other computers connected to it work fine. I am not using
proxies or anything. I set my settings the same as the
other computers that work. Im tryin to get the service
packs,but I cannot download.

Maybe a browser hijack? Maybe try ms.public.security.virus
Run Ad-Aware fully updated.
Run Spybot Search & Destroy fully updated.

I have windows xp. I do use a router but so do a couple
other computers and they are working fine. I can ping
website from which i cannot connect to with my browser.
Ive gone through a lot of help tutorials, none of them
have helped. Can I completely uninstall then reinstall
internet explorer? Is there some way files got
deleted, and if so,how do I get them back?I can download
on this computer and then transfer to the one that is not
working.any thoughts?
