Internet Explorer has encountered a problem

I know this has been beat to death, but I still have not found an answer. I
have down Virus scans with Norton, AVG and Trend MIcro, used Spy Bot SD,
Ad-Aware, CW Shredder, and still get the messages.
I get it when moving from the desk top to IE (In my case Earthlink) It does
not shut down the system but resets the desk top and then I continue back to
Earthlink with no problem.
I also ran Hijack This, but don't understand the results. I got a list of a
large group of entries but not sure what to do with them and can't seem to
find explanations of what I am suppose to do.. I have used and keep current
with Notron for a number of years. and have run Ad-Aware and the Earthlink
spy-ware checker at least weekly. so I do not understand what I have or where
it came from.
