"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem"

Every time I try to access a site , the page appears for a moment and then a
box pops up "Inernet Explorer has encountered a problem" and closes the page
and then it says "The page cannot be found". or "Internet Explorer has to
close" or "Operation aborted". Ive ran the AVG anti virus test and it said it
had a virus and that it healed it but I'm still having this problem ??
Please help?? What could it be or what should I do??

Hello Uniqua, I had the same problem a very long time ago and if I remember
it was a spyware that was doing it, you can run a free spyware scan on your
computer and delete them. Here is the web site:

http://www.trendmicro.com/spyware-scan then click on the yellow button and
follow the screen

Please check Event Viewer for Warning / Error Report in the System and
Application over the last 2 days and post copies.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, and
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&sd=tech

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you should
double click for further information. You can copy using copy and paste.
Often the link will, however, say there is no further information.
http://go.microsoft.com/fw.link/events.asp
(Please note the hyperlink above is for illustration purposes only)

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click
on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now
start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This
will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links
into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event
Viewer.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
The Trend Micro Spyware Scan, recommended by Jagar, is an excellent tool. No
one tool/program can remove everything. You may also need to download,
update and run Ad-aware, Spybot and MS Anti-Spyware (Beta.)

Some malware must be removed manually. You may have to register and post a

proper forum and an "Important- Read This First" message so that you follow
proper procedure.
