"INTERNET EXPLORER HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE'

I am using Widows 98 second edition. I continue to
receive the message "INTERNET EXPLORER HAS ENCOUNTERED A
PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE' I checked the FAQ's. 810887
says to clear the "ENABLE SMART TAGS" box in Internet
Options, Advanced tab. Only problem is there is no box to
clear that says "Enable Smart Tabs." Can anyone hep.

This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
