Explorer crashes

I am using windows ex and internet explorer 6.0. I
continually get "Internet Explorer has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience." I have read knowledge article 810887 and
do not have "Smart Tags". Have been fighting this for
about a year without any results. Many thanks for thee
who helps me.
