Internet Explorer Error Message

When I fire up my browser, I receive the follwing message:

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module
KERNEL32.DLL

The website says to rename the APPLOG directory and
restart the computer. I tried this, but it did not solve
my problem. The browser still does not come up, and I
still get the same message.

Any other ideas?
