Internet Explorer "error" issues...

I have a new Dell computer and had been using it successfully up until a few
days ago. Recently when I have been loging into my internet account,
Internet Explorer has been kicking me off shortly thereafter. I get a pop-up
message stating Internet Explorer has encountered an error and must close. I
am then given three options: 1) Debug (which I hace clicked and to no avail
the problem continues); 2) Send error report (which I have done almost 20
times and still no fix); and 3) Close without sending report (which I now do,
knowing the first two do nothing for the problem).

I have updated my computer with the latest Microsoft Windows updates and
still have the same problem. I was also getting "Runtime" error messages
stating "line 216 at *******" and then the "OK" button on the bottom. That
seems to have stopped.

The only two things I did prior to the start of this problem that may have
affected my computer was: 1) download the Microsoft .Net 1.1 update from the
website; and 2) add the music program KaZaa to my computer. I have since
removed the Microsoft .Net 1.1 update and removed the KaZaa program and all
of its related programs from my hard drive and I then re-loaded the Microsoft
update. However, neither of these steps fixed the problem.

I am becoming frustrated and need someone with a better understanding of
computers to tell me what I need to do to fix the error messages (which close
all Internet Explorer windows every time I get the message, upon the
submission of the report or closing of the error message).

Thomas,

Majority of the Internet Explorer crashes are caused by third-party add-ons
and Malware. If that's the case, reinstalling Internet Explorer is of no
use. You need to isolate the problem by disabling the Internet Explorer
extensions to determine the problem. You may follow the advice offerred in
my IE FAQ page (http://www.winhelponline.com/iefaq.htm#IEOpen). See FAQ item
Cannot open Internet Explorer [flashes and quits] which very much applies to
this problem.

Disinfect your system by running these malware cleaners:

1. Ad-Aware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com

2. SpyBot S&D
http://www.safer-networking.org

3. CWShredder
http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html

Update 1 & 2 before running a scan.

Then, run a full system virus scan with fully updated definitions. Try Trend
Micro's Sysclean package (free), it's capable of eliminating keyloggers,
trojans etc.

I have come across the exact same issue; just after downloading 'yahoo
messenger'. EVERY time I want to shut down an Explorer window the computer
flashes me the error message with the three options 1-debug, 2-send error
message,3-close.... I always choose send error message but then ALL my
Explorer windows close. I erased yahoo messenger from my harddrive but it
didn't change the problem.

Oh yeah, why send error messages if nothing gets fixed or done abou them???

PLEASE HELP...

Thanks,
Glenn S.
