internet explorer dissapears

Hi all

I have had this happend twice so far within a day or so, I have been surfing
and the whole of my internet explorer just closes and dissapears..... I then
reopen internet explorer and continue to surf without much of a problem.
Today it just did the same is it a virus?
or something to do with windows explorer?

Im using :

Windows explorer version - 7

Norton 360 Premier edition

Windows XP home SP3

Quad core and pc has all updated drivers

Hmmm any ideas?

Three ideas:

1- Malware infection. ("But I have Norton 360..." is not a defense.)

2- Interference by Norton <name of program>. (Wouldn't be the first time.)

3- Incompatible browser add-on.

Does Event Viewer provide any details?
