Internet Explorer crashes on Win XP Home Ed. with latest updates

This happens several times in the last days.

I have Windows XP Home Edition with latest updates.

I run Internet Explorer. When I run it again (ie. another
browser window), second program crashes with the information
below (it happened so much that this time I have not been
all lazy to write down the info in it).

The point is that I cannot open the second window by
choosing "File->New->Window" in Internet Explorer, but
running it from its icon on the desktop, for the second time.
This second time mostly crashes.

I got the feeling this has to do with Java VM but I haven't
found any helpful link on web. Also, since I have annoname
PC from an OEM, I don't have any chance to contact to Microsoft
Support.

The version of Internet Explorer is:
"Version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633"
update versions: SP1, Q810847, Q813951, Q813489,
Q330994, Q818529, Q822925, Q828750.

The window says that there is an info in this file:
C:\DOCUME~1\UTKUZC~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER21.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt

But this file is not human-readable (ie. binary format).

Would you guys please tell me where I have the problem?
Does it have to do with plenty of temporary files in the directory above?
Does it have to do with Java-based sites?
Does it have to do with a site that interfered my system
with an ad trojan? (I have checked my PC with AVG but it is clean)

Here is the lovely info:

A small windows comes out and in it says:
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
and needs to close. etc. etc.

I have been able to prevent IE from being crashed by typing
following command on DOS command prompt:
regsrv32 /u c:\documents and settings\...\application data\winshow\winshow.dll.

But I cannot delete the ...\application data\winshow directory.
Is there any way remove that thing? Or do I try to do dangerous
things?
