Internet Explorer can not open Search page

Greetings:

I am running IE 6.0 on Windows XP and recently started
getting "Internet Explorer can not open search page" when
I try to access www.google.com or do a web search using
yahoo. I've deleted files and cookies from IE,
uninstalled then reinstalled IE and installed using
ie.inf. None of those solutions worked. Any ideas about
what might be wrong or how to fix it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Arnold:

Thanks, but I use norton anti virus software. I tried
the qhosts trojan program from symnatec and the
application from spyware, but none of them solved the
problem. (qhosts trojan program advised me that it had
not been found on my pc.)

I'm open to suggestions from anyone on how to fix the
problem.

Alan,
Trojan Qhosts hijacks the HOSTS file, however unlike normal redirectors,
this one hides the HOSTS file in the "Windows\Help" folder.

See: http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
Download: either "RenHelpHostsXP.bat" or RenHelpHostsME.bat"
Follow up with the link provided instructions .......
