Why does the iexplore.exe browse history include the access history of local
machine resources? AND, can this be prevented?

Windows XP used iexplore.exe as its Windows Explorer.

Lets make some kind of experiment. Run Windows Explorer. Run Task
Manager and find here Windows Explorer in applications tab. Then
right-click on it and choose "Go to process". And now tell me please why
explorer.exe is shown - not iexplore.exe? :o)
