How can I restore my copied Internet Explorer History

I copied the "History" folder from my Documents and Settings folder
to a 2nd hard drive before, per Microsoft, I formatted my main harddrive and
then
did a new installation of Windows XP Pro-SP2 onto my primary hard drive.

Now I want to "restore" my copied Internet Explorer History files into
my new Documents and Settings folder. How do I do this so I can get back
all my web browsing history ?

"Per Microsoft"'s directions, Microsoft could not solve a problem I had.

Microsoft's support engineer agreed that I need the Microsoft Kernel Trace
Facilities, but those tools are classified materials available only to
Microsoft Developers, so we never identified the cause of that problem.

In other words they "resolved" my problem, as docmenuted in Case # 1045921207,
by telling me to reformat my hard drive and reinstall Windows XP, which I
have done. But this resolution does not solve the problem, or even identify
the cause of the problem, which was that IE6 would display only "The page
cannot be displayed" to any IE6, or Netscape, or Firefox request for any
normal, non-secured web page after being connected to the web for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes I got only that error reply from any web page, and pictures
would not display in any eMail, but I could still send and receive eMail, and
I could still "Ping" any web address.

Now, how do restore my IE6 history files from my 2nd hard drive ?

Did the MS engineer tell you to back-up your History folder?

No, he did not tell me to back it up.
I copied it myself without direction.

I suppose you could try replacing the contents of C:\Documents and
Settings\[usere]\Local Settings\History <=this folder with the contents of
the folder you backed-up, but I'm not about to tell you to do it or
recommend that you do it, Dan, nor can I guarantee that doing so won't have
possibly disastrous consequences.
