Internet Explorer blocked inadvertantly

Can anyone tell me how to unblock IE? It wont access the
web at the moment and I've a nasty feeling it was my
fault. Whilst somewhat befuddled by a bad virus (human)I
got fed up with pop ups saying something was trying to
access the internet and not only clicked on 'block this
application' but also the 'always use this action' bit.
As IE now wont access the web at all, but I can use other
browsers, I think I did something daft. Any idea how I
can undo it if so? I've gone through resetting factory
settings but to no avail. my email is chiui underscore

What program did you use to block the virus? Use the same program to
unblock IE.

Open your firewall program and unblock iexplore.exe.
