Internet Explorer Address Bar does not work

Hi,

I have a really weird problem with Internet Explorer.

If I type a web address into the address bar and hit enter, nothing happens.
No matter what the address is, it just does nothing. It does not hang or go
into 'not responding', it just doesn't load the page.

However if I click a link from my favourites or in an e-mail then it loads
that page!

Can anybody help please?
