Internet Explorer 7

Saturday I lost my connection to the internet via Internet Explorer 7. I have
called my ISP for help with no avail. They said that version 7 is preventing
my access to the internet which is true because I tried through another
company that is allowing me to post this question today. I want to surf the
net through Internet Explorer like I have done for years. Is there a way to
fix the problem(s) with version 7 and if not, how can I get version 6 back?

IE7 questions are best asked in the Internet Explorer newsgroup. There are
quite a few posts there so peruse them for something on topic before posting
a new message.

Make sure when you post there you include some relevant information. You
haven't provided any, info such as: what is the ISP, how do you connect to
the internet, what happens when you try, any error messages, did it ever
work, if it did what changed between the time it worked and now, and what
troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?

To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or

Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
add-ons).

2. If you uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6), does this
behavior persist?

Try R-Studio software from this site:
www.r-tt.com
If you know the exact file name as well as the file extension then you mya
provide that as a search option in R-Studio for greater chances of recovery.

Tony - I recently downloaded the upgrade to xp 7.0. I have the same problem.
My explorer will not enter a web page. This was on aother computer so I am
puzzled how you contacted this web site. I could not on my other computer.

My temporary solution involved the knowledge that I was connedted to the
internet. Only explorer was not being allowed into web sites. Using another
computer I obtained the data for Firefox and was able to download this and
can now contact all webb sites on the internet.

I may note that MS was happy to tell me if I asked for help to correct this
problem I would be charged. Perhaps sometime in the future MS will solve the
problem. I'm not going to since I have an alternate solution.

Likewise, I had so much trouble with it I deleted it and have gone back to
the prevous version. Microsoft help told me they would help me sort out the
problem for an $80 fee!
