I just let windows xp upgrade to internet explorer 7 and now every time that
I sart it it goes to a site called http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx ,
which is just a blank blue page, instead of my home page. What the hell is
this page for anyways?
I can't find any way to make it start at my preferred home page. I am forced
to click on the home page icon on the menu bar just to get to my home page.
Is there a way to avoid it wasting my time with this crap?
Can I uninstall internet explorer 7 and go back to internet explorer 6 or
whatever comes with windows xp?
Thanks for any advice.

I did and it still comes up as the blank blue page.

If it is still blue after two minutes, close IE and go to Start | Run and
type
regedit
and press <Enter>. Navigate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
In the right pane create the value RunOnceHasShown and set it to 1

Similarly, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
In the right pane create the value RunOnceHasShown and set it to 1

there are a lot of different kinds of values available to do this.
Which do I select to create the value?
string, binary dword, multistring, expandable string?

also, it reports an error on the page at the lower left corner and the page
is just blue.

Highlight Main in the left pane.
Right click in the right pane.
Click New.
Name it RunOnceHasShown
-it is case sensitive.
Give it the DWORD value 1 (0x00000001).

Thanks for trying to help.
I did all you said but it made no difference.
The blue page still comes up and just stays no matter what.
It does say error on page as it tries to load at the bottom left of the
status bar.
I finally gave up and uninstalled it and went back to my old browser.

Sorry.

Stick to IE 6 until they get the bugs out of IE 7. :)

The more noone answers the questions I ask here, the less patience I end up
with.
