Internet explorer 6 service pack 1 problem

Sometimes when I am browsing websites there seems to be a problem when downloading the images in internet explorer. I just get a blank box where the image should be with a small red cross in the top left hand corner, I have downloaded all the windows updates but this doesnt seem to have made any difference.

Can anyone help me? I am using XP Pro
