Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1

When I try and install Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1
download from the microsoft download site. My computer
gets to 87% installed and then hangs up.
Is there some way to remedy this? Why is this happenening?

One cannot download Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1
and install it in Windows XP. IE 6 is upgraded to IE 6 SP1
when you install Service Pack 1 for Windows XP.
