Internet Explorer 6.0 Or Windows XP

I am having a serious problem with Internte Explorer and
or Windows xp. I recently began to experience very
frequent crashes with Internte Explorer 6.0. I am not
being disconnected from the Internet, IE simply crashes,
and I cannot surf, nor can I access my E Mail in Outlook
Express Mail service. So far I have:
Repaired Windows xp home ed (twice)
Replaced my Ehternet card.
Reset My Scientific Atlanta Modem (numerous times)
Called my ISP rep, and I told that I am not being
disconnected. The tech is able to Ping my address, and I
am on line with a very good connection. But I cannot
surf and I cannot access my e mail.
Spent 3.5 hours on the phone with two different Microsoft
Technicians. No help there.
I am running Windows XP Home Edition. All updates have
been downloaded and installed. My machine is equipped
with P4 2.5 cpu, 1.5 gigs of ram, and a 40 gig hd.
I have been working on this problem for 5 days now, and
have not made any progress at all. As long as I stay at
one url address, I do not have a problem, when I begin to
surf to different addresses, after about 3 address
changes, my browser crashes. Not a disconnect, a browser
crash.

Hi - Although you've apparently been very thorough on the hardware/ISP
side, I don't see where you've scanned with a current antivirus program
(meaning a version not earlier than 2002 and using updated virus
definitions). Is the computer clean?
