Internet Explorer 6.0 on Win2000 two sessions not working

I used to be able to call up multiple sessions of IE to
access different web sites.

Now when I bring up the first session and access a page -
and then start a different IE session to access a new
page - the new page is called up in the first window.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

In IE - Tools-Internet Options-Advanced, scroll down to "Browsing"and
Uncheck the box which says "Re-use windowsfor launching shortcuts".

When I call up a second page, it is blank and I can't do anything with
it. The File, Edit, Options are worthless and I have to close it.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

4. If that doesn't fix it, see this article:

http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#new_window

5. Try this:

Go to Start | Run, and type SFC.
Choose 'Extract One File From Installation Disk'.
Type oleaut32.dll, not worrying about its location. Then, click Start.

Next to 'Restore From', type in or browse for the file's location, which is
probably in the Win98 folder of your installation CD-ROM (typically
D:\Win98), or in your Windows\Options\Cabs folder, as the case may be.

Then, next to 'Save File In', enter C:\Windows\System, and click OK. System
File Checker looks for the file, saves it as you requested, and then tells
you that 'the file has been successfully extracted'.

You may need to reboot.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
You have made my day, my weekend, as the first thing you told me to do
worked! :))
Maybe I don't hate Microsoft. ;)

Now if only I had some idea how that gets messed up. <G>

Well, I was getting that annoying "Interent Explorer has
encountered..." message. So I went and downloaded all the patches
and updates available for Windows 2000. I put Spy Sweeper on and
cleaned the place up.
After that, I had the blank window problem. So your guess is
probably a lot better than mine. :)
Thank you again.

I consistently download all security patches, often before they're on
Windows Update and I have never had the problem.
