Anybody knows where to get that?

Microsoft seems to only offer an xp download.

Internet Explorer 6 SP1, the latest version of Internet Explorer
for users not running Windows XP:

IE 5 is no longer supported.

Except that is a downloader, which only downloads XP.

Not true from the page:

System Requirements
Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000; Windows 98; Windows ME; Windows
NT; Windows XP Service Pack 1

486/66 MHz processor (Pentium processor recommended)

Not sure what your problem is with ActiveX but it's required for
WindowsUpdate which I would strongly recommend you use.

There is enough bloatware already. I'll decide what I want to download
from links, not them based on what they think i'd like.

Heck no.

Which doesn't work.

Oh well, perhaps someone will post it somewhere.

I don't care what it says on the page, when I download it it says
"Windows 2000 / Windows XP Install"

But does it run on your Win98 system? I suspect it does.

WindowsUpdate will only make recommendations. You are never required to
install anything aside from the ActiveX component required to use it.

The URL wrapped?

Ah, a bit of fighting with it, and it downloade the win98 files - it did
write some unnecessary crap to registry but it lets see if this isn't
enough.

Thanks! :)

You're welcome..hope it helped. :-)

It doesn't continue since MSIE was installed on the XP system (the win98
is not connected to the net)
