"Internet E-mail" disabled when creating new account in Outlook 2010

I have just upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. Before the upgrade the
account functionality in Outlook 2010 worked fine. Now the choice
"Internet E-mail" is disabled when I try to manually configure an
email account. I have tried installing both the 32 and 64 bit version
with the same result. (As part of the upgrade Outlook 2007 was
installed temprarily for a short while - could this influence
anything?)
