Internet crashes

My internet crashes for no apparent reason whenever i try to go into a few websites. Such as going to my geocities webpage, and trying to load pagemaker to improve the webpage. No error or anything. Just crashes. I am pretty sure its not a security issue or virus either. It started when i first downloaded Visual Basic, and i thought the problem would go away when i deleted it....but it didn't. Help please.

Did the problem start when you downloaded VB or after you installed VB?
