This may not exactly be and IE problem, but it seems
similar to problems others have posted in this thread ...
I use a third party software package (Dazzle/Endicia)to
buy postage/print postage labels over the internet. I'm
using a fairly new computer, and when I installed the
software to it last week, the program was working without
a problem.
A few days ago things went awry ... now when I open the
software and it tries to connect with the remote server,
it hangs "Waiting for account status" and eventually
times out.
I know this sounds like a problem with the software
itself or the remote server, but I've ruled that out, as
I can connect fine when I set up my older computer and
perform the same function.
A trace shows that there is a full connection, but for
some reason my computer will not receive any incoming
data.
I am not running a of firewall, as this would seem to be
the most likely culprit, and I have also done multiple
virus/spyware/etc. scans. Also, as far as I can tell,
regular browsing on/downloading from the web is not
compromised.
A process log that I can access from the software package
shows that it hangs at the point it calls wininet.dll ...
so I wonder if this could be corrupted?
Any ideas or insight would be much appreciated and/or if
anyone thinks there is a more appropriate thread for this
question please let me know.
