Internet connectivity problem after service pack2 install

I recently installed service pack2 and have been having a
problem with my internet connection intermitently. I am
connected through a cable internet service and sometimes
the system will not connect. I can open IE or
OutlookExpress and it cannot find any IP address it tries
to connect to. I have tried other programs when this
happens such as trying to update my virus protection and
that cannot connect either. If I then reboot the machine
the problem is fixed for a while. I have checked all of
my connection settings when this occurs and can't find
anything wrong. Anyone know what could be going on?? The
problem is intermitent and I have not been able to
determine anything common that was done on the PC prior
to this occurring.

Two things to check:

1. Update your drivers for the network card (or roll them back to ones
that worked well before SP2).

2. If you are using a third-party firewall, see if there is an
upgrade/patch to it.

3. If none of the above works, try a different network card.
