Internet connection

Hi, My copmputer stops responding and if it is logged
into a messenger it is automaticly logged out. So i have
to clear history and so on then reboot but the other night
I only disconnected my internet connection and reconnected
with out the reboot and it worked fine again is there
something wrong with my connection any ideas ?

Check here:

Right click My Computer Icon/Properties/Hardware/Device Manager. Expand
Network Adapters/Right click the adapter in question/Properties. Select
Power Management and uncheck: Allow the computer to turn off the device to
save power.
