Reconnecting to the Internet if connection lost

Suppose my antivirus program breaks the connection to the internet
(this has never happened but it could happen).

I have DSL modem that automatically connects whenever I turn on the
computer. If the connection is broken, would I have to reboot or is
there a way to reconnect?

My Start> Connect To does not list my current DSL connection.

It is very, very unlikely that your antivirus program breaks the connection
to the Internet. Do a thorough scan for malware.

To refresh the Internet connection, you can try:

Start>Run>cmd [enter]
ipconfig /release [enter]
ipconfig /renew [enter]
