internet connection

Please I hope someone can help. Ijust bought a new computer and I have a
wireless internet, it works great most of the time but I am trying to take
online classes and when I try to download assignments into word I lose my
signal. No matter what I do I cannot get these downloads.
 
are you using a wireless router connected to your modem or do you have
a wireless internet ISP.
