Internet Connection working but no access

When I click on the network connections it says I'm enabled but if I go to a
command prompt and ping a site I get a "can't transfer error". Ideas on
where to troubleshoot from here?
 
Well, just to be sure there's no syntax error at the command prompt, are you
able to reach these sites through your browser? If you are unable to reach
any sites, it sounds as though you have an issue with your firewall. We
need more information, did this begin after you installed something, removed
something, did anything, what's been going on?
