Internet connection Wizard help

I just reinstalled windows XP on a Dell 4600 desktop system. I have a DSL
connection and installed all the updates for Windows, Norton, and other
various programs with it. I went to install the dialup connection (friends
computer I'm working on) to earthlink and when I try to setup the connection
manualy using the internet connection wizard I get to the page where I have
to select what type of connection I'm setting up and everything (including
the dialup connection) is greyed out except the always on broadband
connection.
How can I regain the use of these options without having to reinstall
windows again, as dell wants me to.
