internet connection trouble w/ dsl

I have dsl Which means i am always online. Well, i have been "losing" my
connection . This should not happen. I cannot view any websites, aim doesn
ot work. Htis sometimes happens when i am working online, or if i wanlk away
for as little as 5 minutes. I have made sure that there is no dial up
connection. I hav eno clue hwat is wrong. any help is appreciated

no i do not use aol. I acutally use Earthlink, bu tearth link i snot having
problems, so i know it is my computer. i esp. know this because there are 2
other computers using earthlink dsl in my home. I know it is my computer.
again, any helpis appreciated.

You are not alone, I also have the same problem.
I've not found a solution, I don't think MS is aware of
this issue, I think it was caused by a security update.
What I do to recover the connection, is start run cmd
and ping my ISP home page, or refresh the website your on
a few times, it does come back, the ping takes less time.
and no I don't use AOL, I have either IE or Mozilla.
and it happens with both of them on either XP or W2K.
