Running SP2, on the Taskbar Icons, my Ethernet Connection Speed shows 100
Mbps while my Internet Connection Speed shows only 10 Mbps. Why wouldn't
they both be the same? Can I adjust the Internet Connection speed any
where?

TIA!

Most Network Interface Card(s) use a feature called "AutoSense"
for speed setting. From your description, it sounds like you have 2
tray icons. How is your network setup ?
Not all NICs have the speed options, but many have Advanced
settings where you can toggle to speed setting from Autosense to a
fixed rate.

Tom,

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong but your Ethernet connection is
probably capable of connections up to 100Mps (mine is a Linksys 10/100Mps
ethenet connection). Your actual Internet connection speed is only 10Mps,
which sounds accurate.

Yes, I changed the Autosense to 100 and fixed the one for Ethernet. The
Internet Connection Icon still shows only 10 Mbps. That is what is
confusing to me.

Why is it confusing you? A broadband connection is usually in that range.

Guess I thought it should be 100 Mbps all the way through. Now that I
think about the 10 Mbps comments, my ISP only guarantees 4 or 5 Mbps so 10
should be more that enough.

Thanks for the comments. I learned something today :)

All it means is that your ether card is *capable* of going at that
speed, not that you are.
