When I turn off my monitor, but leave my computer running, the (wireless)

Check your Power Scheme on the NIC and make sure the System/Computer not
configured to Shut the Device for Power Saving Option:
Right click My Computer >> Properties >> Hardware Tab Click Device manager>>
Expand [-] Network Adapter >> Right click your Wireless NIC select
Properties >> Click Power Management.

= Right click on the Desktop >> Select Properties >> on the Display
Properties click on Screen Saver then click Power Button and make your
chnages there.

Yes, from there I can stop the monitor from turning off when left alone.
What I need to know is how to turn the monitor off without having the
internet shut off along with it.

It's a 19 in. Samsung SyncMaster. It has a button on the front that you
just slide your finger over and it will turn off. If I turn it off the
internet connection goes with it...
