internet connection problems

After getting a freezing problem fixed, now my computer
will only connect to the internet using aol, which
ironically is not listed in my network connections. I've
tried msn and netzero, and only get a "modem is busy"
message.

Any thoughts?

Have you done a "shutdown" then a fresh boot? Sounds like
the modem hardware is locked in a state... it happens.

Yes, I've tried shutting down. It has actually been
doing this for a few weeks now. I even spent a few hours
on the phone with msn, and they couldn't figure it out!
