Internet Connection Not Recognized

I have attempted to update signatures many times and have even uninstalled
and reinstalled the whole Beta (after re-downloading the installer software).
My internet connection is perfect (Cable), but whenever I try to update
signatures, I get a message saying that an internet connection cannot be
found. How can I update the signatures?

Hi Sachssci;
I don't think it has anything to do with your connection speed, more likely a
firewall is blocking your program access.

*Update with third party firewall
Customers with software firewalls need to grant access to the programs below in
order to keep Microsoft AntiSpyware up to date as well as upload unknown threats
to the spynet community.

Customers with hardware firewalls only need to verify ports 80 and 443 are open.

To add to Dave M. sugestion, check;

Is your Internet Explorer or Outlook Express set to work off-line or
on-line? Please check in the File menu of Internet Exporer or Outlook Express
- the "Work off-line" option should nºt be checked. Do you have a software
or hardware firewall that controls outbound connections?Let us know how it
works ºut.
