internet connection missing?

I've just installed windows xp professional upgraded from
home edition and the first thing i notice is that my
internet dial up is missing. can anyone please help me!
 
I upgraded from Windows XP Home Edition to Professional and first thin
I noticed was that broadband internet connection is not working. I
Network Connections, I tried to Repair it but get the followin
message:

"Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. Cannot Proceed."

Under Device Manager, I removed the Network device and reran th
Network Wizard but am still getting the same error. I will appreciat
if someone could help me fix this problem
