Internet connection lost after running Spyware Beta

I recently ran the new Microsoft Spyware Beta and although it worked well,
now I cannot connect to the internet. I have a cable connection (RoadRunner)
and when I open Internet explorer it says it cannot find the server. I have
a wireless network and the other computers work fine, so there is a
connection to the internet.
IE worked (very slow) before I ran the Spyware Beta , so I think it must
have removed something I need. (Also this machine is connected by a cable to
the router so signal is not a problem.)
Any Ideas?
P.S. I am running Windows XP
