Internet Connection Firewall Problem

Respected Sir / Madam
I am using Windows XP professional edition, I am having a problem regarding Internet connection firewall that sometimes its icon (The Orange Lock) disappears from my Internet connections and the statments (written below of connection) doesn't show that this connection is firewalled. WhenI check every connection's properties->Abvanced it shows that connection is firewalled, but statment written below and icon doesn't appear
When I refresh Network Connection's folder everything appears Orange Lock, and statment which tells that this connection is firewalled.
Kindly guide me why this happens? Is my PC safe from outer illegal access
I hope that you will not disappoint me
With Regards,
Shahzad.
