Internet connection dropped continuosly

I'm using Windows 2000 and my internet connection is
finished after a short while, it does it by itself, always.
I have not problem conecting or surfing for a short period
of time, before the connection is terminated. Any idea
about this?

What type of connection do you have ? Can we assume it is dialup? Modem
type, connection speed. Are you fully updated with patches (somehow), IE
version

Connection is dialup,modem is a U.S. Robotics V92 FaxPCI,
my browsers are: I.E. 5.5 and Mozilla 1.4, I have The same
problem with both. All this started happening after I
installed SP3, I have the CD SP3 I purchased from
Microsoft. The problem does not happen all the time but it
happens way to often. Thanks for your answer.

Do a google search for "keepalive" ...you'll find plenty of small
shareware/freeware apps out there that should prevent this from happening.
